It's because there would be less fitting in boxes or crates and not very easy to handle. Nonsense! It's the imperfections that give the product character. We love real food, just because of their imperfections and flavour. 'Cooking with imperfections' is the title of a study project written by Rosalie Noordam. Her objective is to inspire people and make them aware that ‘every year tons of perfectly healthy and nutritious food ends up in the garbage, simply because they don't meet the regulatory standards’.
