There is no environment more hostile to life than the vacuum of space, but what to eat?
And, once we’re there, we’ll need to eat. The advances in technology required to make food work in space can have exceptional benefits for our food here on earth. Space exploration has been synonymous with the highest of high tech since its inception.
The nutritional biochemistry department at NASA is in charge of making sure astronauts meet the nutritional requirements of life in space. In their own words, they develop ‘countermeasures’ to counteract the negative effects of space flight on the human body.
