The medical staff at the #MadRiverCommunity #Hospital get their hands dirty. Find out why.
Access to fresh and local food
The Garden Court Café at the Mad River Community Hospital campus serves fresh products from their on-site vegetable garden. An in-house work-share program offers hospital staff the opportunity to volunteer their time working in the garden and receive a share of the harvest for their efforts. Many are just happy to be helping to make the hospital’s organic garden beautiful and productive.
Having access to fresh, local food fits Mad River Community Hospital's goal of keeping people healthy. Vegetables fresh from the garden contain higher concentrations of nutrients and the maximum amount of vitamins and minerals.
