When countries across the world think they have a culinary heritage, they want to prove it to the world. They are making use of a new tool. It's called gastrodiplomacy.
For instance Sweden, Norway and Denmark has come together to promote their culinary heritage, with René Redzepi as their masterbrain. Japan is on the right track to capture the world with the traditional Washoku cuisine and the Netherlands want to profile itself by emphasizing their unique character and by promoting healthier eating.
